Archive.org: wayback machine - purpose and using it..!

Hello Guys.. We all know that google,yahoo,bing search engines crawl the webpages on the Internet. But by using those search engines we cannot access the websites which are blocked (or) shut down due to various reasons, and the sites which are not available on this day. We can also see the appearance of a website in the past.

                            The "Archive.org" is digital library found in May 1996. It is an excellent digital library which contains all the websites data. It is a non-profit library which contains free stuff such as movies,mp3,...  The Archive.org site crawls the web data and stores it in their database. In case we want to check the website appearance before 10 years we can surely do it using "archive.org" provided which cannot be done using either of Google,Yahoo or other search engines. We can also access the websites which were shut down or taken down which means which are not available today using this awesome website.


Simply It is WayBack Machine which takes us to past.

The address of the site is www.archive.org. The website looks as below.

Enter the address of website beside WayBackMachine and Hit Enter.

Then the page redirects to a calendar.

The Blue circle in the calendar means a Backup was made on that day. Backup is nothing but the site is crawled by the site on the particular day. By clicking on any of the date backup was made the site can be accessed and the site looks as if the site appeared on the same day same year.
